The wiki for PD's new LRP game - Empire - is launched and is here: http://www.profounddecisions.co.uk/empire-wiki

Post-launch, I have realsed:

  1. There is a difference between Aspirational and Minimum Standards. This could be clearer. I think the important point is "Try not to clash", but I have never been a costume-based ballgowner.
  2. There are going to be a A LOT more Lineages than I was expecting, but then I have always enjoyed the "human racial advantage" unless there are masks involved
  3. I need to remember that "The Internet" is not representative of anything but a vocal minority, albeit sometimes a lot of vocal minorities. This applies to positive and negative responses.
  4. I'm not sure that I need to do my blog on Moral Authority now. People have enough to read, though I have promised Matt P a primer on the Synod to aid understanding how it works for players (and I aim to make it IC so people can have it in the field with them)
  5. Wiki release is not the "end" that my brain was rather hoping for. Need to work on that, brain.

Pfft, a lot of people are frothing about lineages, but I reckon that most of them will balk when they come to actually trying to get the kit together - or once they've worn it in the field once and realised that's actually kind of uncomfortable and untouched humans aren't at a massive disadvantage of any kind.

You say that, but other systems - such as the LT - have no specific "racial advantages" for playing a non-human and non-humans remain popular there.

Not every decision is made for Munchkin purposes.

I was half tempted by a lineage based on the bits and pieces I'd heard from various sources (despit having been massively put off by a version discussed at one of the early focus groups, which thankfully got ditched). After reading the briefs I am much more tempted, as every one of them is pretty damn cool.

It looks like the people writing them had a lot of fun and I really hope that was the case.

I'm intending to play a human and assume all the Lineaged are one bad day from going axe-crazy, so I thank them for their sacrifice. I shall also enjoy my lie in of a morning while they're putting on make-up and prosthetics.

I am massively tempted by Lineageing - excuse to wear awesome costume and have amazing downside and flaws, hells yes! Also, if I want blue hair (for example) I feel like I have to Lineage, because strange coloured hair/eyes etc will be phys reps.

I may be one of the few who likes having strange fake hair.

Also, massively agree on point one. Not helped by Matt occasionally contradicting himself on the FB group to the point that even I didn't know which he was going for.
