sheyna has gone to Norwich.

A doctor visited the Mickelburgh house this morning and told Peter that it would be a matter of hours now. Carla is so doped up on morphine as to be near-comatose, so at least there is no pain.

Kaz and I talked about it and decided she would go alone. Eleanor wouldn't understand why Mummy was so upset, and the family situation will be emotionally demanding enough without the Crawling Chaos being unleashed. According to timetabling, her train will be pulling in now.

Meanwhile, I am Castellan of the house. To say that I am coping fine would be inaccurate, but I'm coping. It helps that Eleanor is an oblivious joy. She's turning into a proper little non-verbal bossyboots. She will quite clearly thrust aside something she is finished with, and lead me to what she knows is next in her routine. She is quite clear how this household is going to be run.

There was, however, a new game at bathtime. Eleanor discovered that if you thrust Squidgy the Bath Cat toward Daddy, he recoils in horror as though he were a vampire afeared of a damp-sponge-animal holy symbol. This was vastly entertaining and brought about fits of giggles as it was repeated a half-dozen times more. One of many blessings I keep enumerating.

I'm glad Kirsten is with her family. I'm proud my LARPing mother-in-law defied expectations by exceeding four weeks after being given less than one to live. I'm happy she has her family around her.

Soon now. Maybe.


In other news:
- After the kerfuffle of BSG, the response to Caprica is either muted or I have gone deaf. I've watched the first couple and its... well... its OK. (Perhaps I have answered my own unasked question.)
- With my own reasons for wishing to think of other things, I have joined the ranks of the PD "F5 pressers". It feels a little pathetic given how little I intend to do when it becomes a reality.

After watching three seasons of Heroes, I have come to the conclusion there is actually only one season of Heroes: The first one.

This logic also applies to the Matrix and Highlander films.

Has The Plan been released yet? I think I missed that.
