EJW: Season one
Yesterday, to mark Ellie's birthday, Kaz created a DVD combining all the video clips we made over her first year. An awesome illustration of how much she has come on (if only in hair growth). We had it playing in the background whilst she opened her presents and cards at grandma's house. We had a lovely lunch with a mini-birthday cake. Uncle Matthew probably scored the winning gift with a small drum that EJ loved banging on with a tad more enthusiasm than rhythm. (I may yet come to curse his name.) That day followed a day trip to Norwich, where Oma had given EJ an eponymous rose to grow with her over her life and they exchanged many big smiles and happy waves.
There's a fair bit absent from this update, but this is how I choose to remember the weekend.

Oh you will you will. Toys are best with off switches where noise is involved lol.
I can't believe Ellie is 1 already but its nice that you have such a lovely day in amongst the hard days you've had recently. Scarily we are looking at 2 in June! 2 years old and the second arrival by then :)

BABY! Cute baby! BABY! This is most of what I am able to think in response to your daughter's telephonic skillz. Majority of brain is taken over by spawning, so it's all projection, of course.
Clearly, the *rest* of the projection is the part where I note that you and K both seem to still be alive and in love with each other! Therefore EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE FINE!
But if I must concede that perhaps Eleanor's birthday was not arranged to reassure those of us who are irretrievably pregnant, I'd add that's she's delightful, and I, like Tanya, occasionally check the Flick for a little "d'awww" session, now and then :) Hoorah for the birthday girl!
hugs
Only... when you start reading it as bed-time story before the age-range YOU are the one who does get hoarse, and she does not understand yet. That's the only thing you can blame me for!
love, Nan.
