Yesterday, to mark Ellie's birthday, Kaz created a DVD combining all the video clips we made over her first year. An awesome illustration of how much she has come on (if only in hair growth). We had it playing in the background whilst she opened her presents and cards at grandma's house. We had a lovely lunch with a mini-birthday cake. Uncle Matthew probably scored the winning gift with a small drum that EJ loved banging on with a tad more enthusiasm than rhythm. (I may yet come to curse his name.) That day followed a day trip to Norwich, where Oma had given EJ an eponymous rose to grow with her over her life and they exchanged many big smiles and happy waves.

There's a fair bit absent from this update, but this is how I choose to remember the weekend.

Oh you will you will. Toys are best with off switches where noise is involved lol.

I can't believe Ellie is 1 already but its nice that you have such a lovely day in amongst the hard days you've had recently. Scarily we are looking at 2 in June! 2 years old and the second arrival by then :)

Iam yet to regret Ceri's drum, I think its great that she can play with music making and she does achieve rhythm now sometimes when playing along with a track. I think I'm dissapointing the guy who got her it.

She really is a beautiful wee girl

In fairness my little boy has a proper drum and drum sticks bought by us. There is the odd occasion it gets a bit too much but generally I love it.

I has present for Ellie (Kate has one too). Can we deliver at some point, or are things still hectic with the Norwich travelling?

We are around all week pending an urgent situation.

Kaz will be happy to meet people during the day (arrangable via text likely). Alternatively, we are around most evenings. Kaz may go to Norwich on the train at the weekend - but we've not firmly decided that yet.

"She's changed the settings and I'm not sure how."
- have just choked on my coffee laughing!

At least she didn't call Australia... =)

After Kaz had compiled the DVD, she was looking for some music to have playing over the menu screen. She wanted something gentle and peaceful whilst displaying happy baby images.

She settled on some music from the Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack. The track is entitled "Concerning Hobbits". I supported my wife's decision for it is nice music, but mentally noted that I should tell you this.

My secret joy is catching up with the video clips put up on Flickr - not at all helping my broodiness, but consistently making me feel gooey inside, she is stunning and soooooooo cute!

If you would like, we could do you a copy of the Season One DVD. We're going to be doing them for family members in far-flung places.

Or you could just keep visiting flickr like a webcomic / lolcat if you prefer.

I like popping by and seeing what new ones are there :) The way I use computers and entertainments I'm more likely to do that than put in a dvd to watch it :)
Am looking forward to Season 2 starting however ;) That end of season cliffhanger, wow!
*grin*

I believe that after 5 seasons, there will be a spin-off.

EJW: School

Hopefully, there will be many many subsequent generational spinoffs.

eeeeeeeeeeeeee! BABY!
BABY! Cute baby! BABY! This is most of what I am able to think in response to your daughter's telephonic skillz. Majority of brain is taken over by spawning, so it's all projection, of course.

Clearly, the *rest* of the projection is the part where I note that you and K both seem to still be alive and in love with each other! Therefore EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE FINE!

But if I must concede that perhaps Eleanor's birthday was not arranged to reassure those of us who are irretrievably pregnant, I'd add that's she's delightful, and I, like Tanya, occasionally check the Flick for a little "d'awww" session, now and then :) Hoorah for the birthday girl!

hugs

Knuffels, and the real birthday-present from Holland does NOT make loud noise ;)
Only... when you start reading it as bed-time story before the age-range YOU are the one who does get hoarse, and she does not understand yet. That's the only thing you can blame me for!
love, Nan.
